Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of uncovering and confirming the role of corporate merger or unification strategies as a risk hedging mechanism for companies. The objects of this research are Bank BRI Syariah, Bank BNI Syariah, Bank Syariah Mandiri which have merged to become Bank Syariah Indonesia. This project a descriptive analysis approach carried out by analyzing the financial reports of Bank Syariah Indonesia and comparing risks before and after the merger. Analysis was carried out on 3 risk profiles including credit, liquidity and investment risks. The ratio measurement for these risks is based on OJK regulation No 10/SEOJK.03/2014 concerning Health Assessment of Sharia Commercial Banks based on risk-based rating. The results provide evidence that the merger process of BUMN Sharia banks into a new entity called PT Bank Syariah Indonesia is able to act as a hedge in minimizing the risk of market uncertainty
